We are looking for a “Business Development Officer – E-Commerce” focusing on “Commercial Targets ( B2B & B2C )” to focus multiple categories , identify targets, develop and attract business opportunities that contribute to the growth of our E-Commerce business and the business of our E-Commerce merchants. S/he will work actively on commercial targets & develop new business opportunities & vendors to onboard from a B2C & B2B perspective actively working in multiple categories in both target spaces as defined by the line manager & Senior Management. This will require a solutions-oriented mindset, a proactive approach and an understanding of the industry landscape and where the opportunities are for DP World within that landscape.
S/he will work closely with colleagues across the organization, including business units and regional offices, as well as Group functions such as IT, operations, finance and communications to deliver on their goals.
Onboarding of users on the platform, ownership of end to end process – lead generation to conversion.
Follow up with existing users on a timely basis to enquire about any requirements
Research and cold call potential clients to build product catalogue & ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
Keep track of any new user registrations and follow up with the relevant users
Gather feedback from end users to improve and develop our services
Must work efficiently in the daily operational management of key partnerships/vendors both existing & targeted.
Follow up on payment & order fulfilment using the back-end system & ensure full execution of transactions & payments to/from customers.
Monitor customer acquisition, sales & revenue and work with Group Comms to optimize campaigns accordingly.
Compile and analyse performance metrics to assess placements effectiveness and to identify new opportunities.
Support with preparing the relevant presentations and documentation
Identify customer needs and recommend improvements Enrich the platform with vendors, product categories and products to meet the business objectives.
Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Founder’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
– Minimum 2 years of e-commerce experience.
– Bachelor’s in sales, marketing or communications and/or related fields or equivalent.
– Knowledge of different revenue models.
– Ability to work effectively within fast paced, diverse cross functional teams
– Excellent analytical skills
– Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
– Team oriented, collaborative and able to effectively contribute to multiple projects with a high degree of accuracy and meet demanding timelines
– Ability to work independently, strong attention to detail, and a passion for driving process improvement.
– Experience presenting to Senior Management
– Relevant sales & marketing qualifications or experience with focus on commercial account management.
– Experience with practices and techniques related to web merchandising or online retailing.
– Experience in B2B/B2C commerce and related services.
– Operational knowledge of techniques required for market research and analysis.
– Sound knowledge of website management and eCommerce usability.
– Proficient with Microsoft office Applications, MS Access and others.
– Knowledge of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and Google Analytics tools for websites
The ideal candidate is a focused on identifying and developing new initiatives, and has strong business judgment, with a track record of actively collaborating and working with diverse developing teams. Analytical thinking, project management skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills are musts. The right candidate stays on top of industry trends and can execute at both a tactical and strategic level. S/he will be responsible for building direct relationships with customer counterparts, identifying and developing business opportunities and driving growth across the B2B and B2C E-Commerce businesses.The person must be a self-starter and effective communicator with leadership and managerial skills.
